How to tell you've been spinnng to much by Jenn.
For a skirt dance you understand, not just random spinning. That's my girls department. Practice is dizzying. So you spin and spin and swish the skirt, and do it over and over again, till you're ready to drop. And you do it again. Then you stop. Swaying slightly you stare at your muted tv and announce, "Damn, Luke looks hot all dressed in black like that." The Dark Side had me. | | Saturday, July 4th, 2009 | | 1:15 pm |
*@$&@^*^$!&%^
Dear Government. Thank you for all your help lately. Its been wonderful. Firstly, renewing my driver's license. As we both sat and stared at the screen with my name on it, your flukey told me she would not let me renew because she couldn't be sure if that was really me since it was my married name, but I could go all the way home, get my marriage license and then I could renew. Thank you for letting me come back the next day and be told, "Thats the wrong marriage license. We want the goverment one, not the church one." Thank you for not mentioning that before. Thank you also for not locating the driver's office in my city. It is wonderful to see all that scenery as I go 45 minutes out of my way twice. Passport office. Thank you for having such helpful people on your website who send lists of "acceptable" id to use when applying for the passport. Thank you to the flukey in the office who was so quick to point out that none of them were acceptable. Thank you that this office too was not located in my city. Health card office. Thank you for not posting on your website everything that is needed. Thank you for your receptionist looking over my id and forms and giving me a # so I could sit and wait for 1 hour and 37 minutes to be told I needed a bill with my address on it. Thank you also for again, not having this office in my city. Thank you for allowing my children and their grandmother to sit in her car for that length of time waiting for me. I'm sure everyone there enjoyed my breakdown very much, quiet as it was. Thank you for allowing me to go home to get said bill with my paper stamped priority, so I did not have to wait in line again. I know priority means, *Get the crazy woman away from us.* Thank you for wrecking my vacation. I now have the smallest, slimmest chance of getting my passport on time. I have to wait for cards to arrive and then go and apply for the passport. Thank you also that only the people who have plane tickets can get a rush on their passports. Since I am driving with a friend, even though I have paid reservations, I cannot get a rush put on mine, and must merely wait with bated breath that it all turns out. Thank you for making the people of Canada jump though hoops. Thank you for setting my hoops on fire and giving me a unicycle with a flat tire. | | Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 | | 2:02 pm |

Well Don't I just suck.
Its been ages. Seriously I forget about lj an awful lot. My email no longer works. The verdict is, our computer is dying a slow death and email has given in first. (ish) Can't see pictures or avatars on some sites anymore either. We have been busy, both girls had birthdays. Shaughny is now 4 and Clararose is 2. Amazing isn't it? Seems like I just had them but whatever. Clararose and I also have stopped nursing. Although sometimes if she is very upset she likes to lie on me like she was nursing with her mouth sort of resting on my boob. She's not nursing of course...she could, I'm still producing milk but she isn't. Is that normal by the way? Our last nursing was Aug 2nd the night before I went on vacation. And I'm still producing? Shouldn't I be drying up or something? Shaughny is in JK and enjoys it every much. Clararose is in preschool and also enjoys that. Although she was mad this morning that I wouldn't let her wear her crocs to school. Her teacher came and carried her away so that ended that. Still volunteering. Just not at the museum village now. There plus folding bulletins for the church, plus chocolate bar sales for Shaughy's school plus I am now the co chair of the student council. Still dancing. Saturday mornings. Still job hunting. Still sewing. Girls want to be Iggle Piggle and Upsie Daisy for Halloween. If you don't know them google In The Night Garden. And be afraid. If you have kids don't let them see it!! Its kiddie crack I swear. One hit and they're addicted. | | Tuesday, July 1st, 2008 | | 10:55 pm |
Happy Canada Day!
Happy Canada all! We celebrated by going to a pancake breakfast. So I'm in line with Clararose, carrying two plates and I get to the pancake guy who says, "I'm just waiting on some more pancakes, I only have one left." I said, "Thats fine. You can give that one to the baby here. It'll do her." Just then the guy arrives with a ton more pancakes, so he gives Clararose one little pancake and then gives ME one little pancake. I'm like.... Nooo. So he sees the look on my face and gives me one more. Naturally Clararose was not happy with her one pancake and ate most of mine as well as her bacon. Plus some of my bacon. And they didn't want anyone asking for 2nds because they had a long line of people waiting to be served. Understandable but c'mon. So we give the girls to Grandma (MIL) who was with us and paid for breakfast btw) and head to Westfield Village. Well by 1pm I was so hungry I was going to light the massive giant much too hot wood stove just to make myself some tea, which would have been such a dumb waste to do. Luckily himself shows up and I tell him I'm starving (He's polishing off an apple) He goes off to C. who does the baking in the lunchroom and comes back with a big heart shaped scone, with butter and jam, some spice cake and a cookie. I nearly cried I was so happy lol. Tonight we thought we'd have sausages. We drove all over trying to buy buns. We are a bunless community. Many many others went to the few open convenience stores and bought all the buns. We had pizza. Again, Clararose ate most of mine. | | Saturday, June 14th, 2008 | | 4:25 pm |
oh bother.
So I'm off to Pennsic War alone this year. Or I will be if I can find a ride there. Himself is being a stick in the mud and won't go with me. My sis, SIL and MIL have offered to watch the girls for me so I don't spend my week worrying about them. Himself will be working I assume so I needed child care. My (one of 2) bff will be there as well, from Japan, who I haven't seen since my wedding day. That is my big reason for going obviously. I expect its my last Pennsic. Himself does not want to play anymore. Ideas like, You don't have to fince sun up to sun down do not compute to him. He can't do that anymore so isn't willing to do anything I guess. So I'd better make this a good one. Provided I can get there. | | Monday, May 12th, 2008 | | 10:21 pm |
Motivated? At least I know how to sleep part 2.
Because I spaced on what I was acutally writing about. While vending at the convention I met another vender, a strikingly beautiful woman whose name will return to me at 3am. She sells Mangosteen juice. Xango? I think its called. Its another miracle cure all fruit. And tastes ok. Anyway she asked to see my baby blankets, said she liked them, thought the price was good etc but I made the mistake of answering her "They will sell" with, "Hopefully." Man, she turned into Yoda! Told me to sit down and basically said "There is no hope, there is no try, there is only *I WILL*." C'mon, total Yoda moment right? The lecture lasted a good 15 mintues but thats the gist. Then in the evening there actually was a motivational speaker hired by the convention. She was good but the best part of it was she told us how to sleep. Take a hot shower...stand under the spray..whether you clean up or just stand there is up to you. Get out of the shower eventually. An hour after your shower your body temperature will drop...thats the time to go to bed. Keep cool air around you, open window, air conditioner, fan, whatever, Don't use too many blankets, stay cool but comfortable and you'll sleep well. Well darn if it doesn't work! I've had the best couple nights sleep in freakin' ages. Go take a shower.:) | | 7:29 pm |
Motivated? At leasst I know how to sleep.
Worked a convention for the Sisterhood of Celebration. Many many women, mostly red hatters but a few sunflowers. Overall a very very good weekend marred by only a few, they aren't happy if they aren't bitchin' types. The sockhop Saturday night was hysterical watching all these elderly ladies in poodle skirts and pony tails shaking it. Friday night I bellydanced with my wonderful teacher and her troupe. I'm not part of her troupe, can't be but am friends with all of them so it was a nice treat for me even though we did all have to kinda do improv on the spot during the dance so as to not scatter the brains of old ladies about the Holiday inn ball room with our flailing canes. Saturday I vended and caught a bus. Literally. Chased that sucker down the driveway, banged the door at the road and made it go back for the ladies it had left behind. Sunday, done early, but had to listen to various ladies complain at me about stuff. Oh deal. | | Monday, May 5th, 2008 | | 11:54 pm |
Maybe famous.
My child may be famous. Well sort of. We did Westfield as usual on Sunday. Not as usual a local artist wandering about took a liking to the girls. In particular to Shaughny in her bonnet with the eyelet lace shadows on her cheeks. He took many many pictures of the wee ones and even a couple of yours truly. And has emailed to say he feels a portrait coming on. It would be cool I must say. | | Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 | | 1:54 pm |
Someday they'll look back and say, "Wow she was @#%$ up."
Its a rainy dreary day. I may just nap it away. So far one kiddie has the same idea. Today was supposed to be a dance practice however, himself has to work so that was the end of that. Also Shaughny was supposed to go to a birthday party. Luckily I have not mentioned it to her so she doesn't know what she is missing. Really even with the rain I would have taken her but a good portion of the party is at the johnson centre pool. No himself means I have to take both girls with me. Both girls into the pool? Nope. Only one? Which one? Which one sits on the sidelines and has a temper tantrum because she's not in the pool with Mummy? Better to not go. We'll give her friend his present on Thursday at gym class. Recently I have read that blogs by mums are exploiting children, revealing person things about them, and will of course result in teenage resentment and distrust. Um...isn't that just the mindset of all teens anyway? :) In my case I would have loved to read what my mum was thinking/doing when my sibs and I were so young. It would be a huge insight into her personality. And really I keep these records so my kids will know me..or even grandkids can look back and say, "So that was my grandma. A crazy woman raising 2 kids and bellydancing around the house when no one was looking." Posted | | Thursday, April 17th, 2008 | | 12:52 am |
Glee!!
2 posts so soon! How productive of me! But I must spread the glee! I found a book. An old book that I grew up with and loved dearly. I have no idea what happened to it. Today I found online and for sale and yes I snapped it up right darn quickly, Come Follow Me...to the Secret World of Elves and Faires and Gnomes and Trolls. By Gyo Fujikawa. I'm sqeeeing! I can't wait to get it. http://www.biblio.com/books/142802011.htmlThis is not the copy I'm getting. I paid much less but this is the only one with a picture. | | Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 | | 11:09 pm |
I think I need therapy...or wine.
And today... Shaughnessy starts yelling. You all just knew it would be a Shaughny story right? She stood up on a kitchen chair, leaned her knee against the back railings, pop! her knee slips through and is stuck fast. I came running downstairs to find himself trying to wiggle her knee back through. Honestly when I first cleared the babygate I thought he was checking her knee for damages and from the way she was yelling, figured we were on our way to Emerg. But nope, just stuck. So I stick my hand in the butter and slather up her knee while Shaughny is yelling, "Whats that supposed to do??" Then I gave a bit of a push slide to her leg and TADA freedom! Honestly. My kid is out to turn my hair (more) gray! Within 2 weeks she has give herself a fat lip running into the stationary gate we pass every single day and got a nice bump on her nose from running into the window crank in the church nursery. Now this. I'm telling ya, there was some mix up in departure, I got my sister's kid! | | Saturday, April 12th, 2008 | | 7:02 pm |

A post for Silk!
Even though I have no idea what she's talking about:) Am going out tonight. For the 1st time in ages don't know what to wear. Possibly a skirt...which means the Legforest has to go. How's that for something you didn't want to read? | | Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 | | 5:36 pm |
I can never do housework again. (darn)
Shaughnessy was at day care, Clararose was happily playing in the living room so I thought I could dash upstairs and do something about the cesspool that is the bathroom. I kept calling down to Clara and each time she answered me with, "Mama" or "baby", or "Doe No" (Don't know). So she was fine. Got the sink and counters all pretty, picked up the clothes from the floor, did the loo and figured I'd better go check on her. She was SPINNING in the living room...I mean like a top. So I called her and she stopped (with difficulty) to look at me. Chocolate everywhere and one in her hand. Race into the kitchen to find any and all foil wrapped easter chocolates are GONE. Wrappers everywhere. Clararose still spinning in the living room, laughing her head off. Its a good thing I didn't buy them much and that we hid most of it in a high cupboard but still. On the plus side, she slept for nearly 4 hours this afternoon... | | Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 | | 11:04 pm |
4 little girls can sure wear a bunch of adults out. I think we were all nearly dead. Oh and two dogs. After bro took his 2 home and sis left with her puppy, Mum's dog just went and curled up on Jeff's lap. Poor thing was wiped out. I know how he felt! Granny loved her sweater and the chocolate bunny. She went to her room to "take a nap" but when I went in a bit later she had eaten the ears off her bunny.LOL Clararose did a running crash land on the ceramic floor. Picked her up, patted her down, wiped her face and discovered her mouth was bleeding. Mum asked if she was ok and I mentioned the blood. BAM! My sister appears in the bathroom and starts checking her teeth (dental assistant LOL) Luckily she had just bitten her lip a bit. It stopped right away..she toddled off to eat a banana. Good dinner, ham, turkey, 'tatoes, regular and sweet, spaghetti squash, corn, gravey, coleslaw, stuffing, brussel sprouts (skipped those  ) and then lemon cake and peach pavlova for dessert. Later, washing dishes with dad it was kinda funny listening to Granny complain about SIL not "lifting one single finger to help out." Mum said, "Well she never does." And surprisingly NO comments about the hair. But then SIL had purple streaks in her hair so whats a bit of raspberry hidden in the red? Also Dad is now published...in the local town paper. Articles on horticulture. However the title; Words of Wisdom by Wilson had me running for it when I commented it would be a very short article.;) | | Saturday, March 1st, 2008 | | 10:36 am |
giving it a try anyway
Am selling baby blankets on Etsy. Talked to wonderful bloo imp-i-ness last night and said I was going to do it. Then thought to myself..."So why aren't I doing it *now*?" So, am now. Smooches to my favourite bloo imp for kick to the subconscious.:) | | Friday, February 29th, 2008 | | 10:44 pm |
Leap, Leap, Leap...
Thats from something but I can't remember what. A kiddie show I think. Oh well. Just throwing out my 2 cents for the 29th. NOt much happening. Have sold my 1st two baby blankets. My Granny is seriously looking into assisted living. I found a cousin online. Clararose's eyeteeth are coming it and its hell. Shaughny's gym class keeps getting cancelled and while I rejoice at the lack of walking in a blizzard, my poor munchkin is heartbroken. Thats all I think... |
